The green corner

I read lots and lots of crafty blogs on a daily basis, and it seems to me that most crafty bloggers are also a dab hand in the garden. I ooooh and aaaah over lovely veggie gardens and flower gardens and native gardens.... heck any beautiful garden!

So while taking photos of my creative space on Thursday, I was inspired to take a photo of the latest thing that I'm growing in my garden.

This is the view outside my loungeroom window. It seems that I'm a dab hand at growing rather large weeds. If I'm brave enough next week, I might even take a photo the latest view of the backyard weed garden!

You are not the only one who can't grow anything, I can kill plastic plants!

Hurrah! Welcome to the Brown Thumb club. I've had kids in order to practise not killing living things... maybe one day I'll be able to keep a plant alive. Envious of your ever-so-tall weeds!

No garden for me, although I wish I had the land for one! Keep cultivating the weeds.

Sounds like a great idea, instead of "my creative space", "my green space". This is the time of the year I love the best. I can smell the sweetness of blossom in the air and my plants are just starting to sprout and pop in every direction. We have two cherry blossoms planted out the front and they bloom within 2 or 3 days of Tori's birthday each year.

Be proud of your weeds, The birds will still love them!! I have a big garden with lots of what we call "pretty weeds!"

Ooh, lucky I'm not bringing the fluffies to TCB today.. they'd eat those for sure!!

Very impressive! Why is it that weeds grow so well with no care, but the things you want to grow take a lot of nurturing?

hee hee out here in the whoop whoop they specialise in red dirt ... fine red dirt that the wind whips up and can come in your screens and land on all and sundry - even me if I sit for more than five mins ...

we bought a box of plants up in the container and now I have a wee tiny bottle tree - grown from seeds from Mungallala (near Mitchell, near Roma near not much else) if we are here 30 years it will be a great tree :) le

Hehe, I love to dig into the garden once in a while but I wouldn't exactly say that I have green fingers. I can grow weeds just as well I think! ;)

Weeds are only weeds because people call them that. Do you know that certain plants you would call weeds over there would be handled as precious plants over here and vice versa? It's just a name. Who knows what pretty flowers will surprise you next spring :-)

(But I'd check that window. This particular plant looks like it could secretly crawl in on you one morning... ;-))

They're great weeds! Husby mowed our grass yesterday and took out some chest-high weeds in the process :-) We're much better at growing weeds than anything else here!

i had issues typing last night i guess i was doing it in the dark and my thoughts got ahead of my fingers
but i should have read it over should have said
"but sometimes weeds are the prettiest flowers - i will show you tomorrow
some picts where the flowers seed i planted did not grow - but weeds grew in - they aren't too
bad to live with :)"

Finki said...

cam that's hilarious...i thought they were real flowers...goes to show that i aint no gardner either.

But don't you reckon weeds are sort of under-rated? - sometimes they have the fab-est flowers (and they're a mighty convincing bit of green!)

Great greens you have growing! :P Thanks for the laugh...

Fantastic! Why? You just gave me an idea for my next blog entry!

Seriously though, I am a keen gardener, but it would be boring if we were all good at everything huh? If you spent too much time gardening how would all those people be able to buy all those Curlypops creations?

Weeds are just flowers in unexpected places .. ;)
